The curriculum at Tiny Treasures follows the requirements of the EYFS, while exploring what is important to each child. We look at what they enjoy and are interested in and develop activities and learning opportunities around that. Children are given opportunities to explore through play with staff guiding them through quality first teaching with SEND support strategies in place.
The EYFS Framework explains how and what children will be learning to support their development. It sets out 7 areas of learning and development which guide professionals’ engagement with your child’s play and activities as they learn new skills and knowledge.
Three prime areas are particularly important for learning and forming relationships. They build a foundation for children to thrive and provide the basis for learning in all areas. Children will also be supported in the other four specific areas, which help strengthen and develop the three prime areas, and ignite children’s curiosity and enthusiasm.
The EYFS is designed to be flexible so that staff can follow your child’s unique needs and interests. Children in early years learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outdoors.
At Tiny Treasures, we will be led by the children’s interests, engaging them in both adult-led activities and also following their lead and immersing ourselves into their play.
