A big thank you to Tom Sullivan from Berkeley Homes (West London) Limited, for participating in a strong man competition and donating all proceeds to Bexley SNAP! Tom sustained an injury before the event but persevered, took part in the competition anyway and came a respectful 9th. He is currently incredibly close to his target of £2,000. If anyone would like to show their support and sponsor Tom - the link is below!

SNAP are exceptionally grateful for the support of companies, individuals and groups within the local community who get involved in all sort of fun fundraising activities to raise money on our behalf.  We use this income to purchase specialist equipment, top up local authority funded services to provide additional exciting and engaging activities and also towards general costs that are hard to fund from elsewhere (such as training, recruitment of Staff and Volunteers, replacing irreparable office equipment etc).

Special thanks go to the Berkeley Homes Foundation and the Staff at Berkeley Homes (West London) Limited who have donated money and set up or joined in with some excellent fundraising events over the last 18 months.  So far we have used their donations for;

  • a residential for disabled children/young people at a PGL Activitiy Centre
  • a residential break for sibling of disabled children at Longridge Activity Centre
  • specialist sensory equipment and sensory toys
  • contribution towards the costs of joint project between SNAP and Archway on a Saturday morning
  • contribution towards Family Services (Living with Autism courses, newsletter postal costs, counselling service in partnership with Charlton Athletic Community Trust)
  • printing of our bi-monthly newsletter
  • Christmas presents handed out to children at various projects
  • Publicity material and AGM literature
  • Design of SNAP's new logo

If you work for a company who would be interested in finding out how they could support us or are keen to run a fundraising event on behalf of Bexley SNAP we would love to hear from you.

What really helped me was to discover that I was not alone and that there were many other parents/carers just like me, with one or more disabled children to care for.
